The route of the 2012 Olympic torch has been released today. The torch will come within 10 miles of 95% o
f the population in the UK, including nine stops in Warwickshire – our map provides more details about where the torch will stop in the county.
We have overlaid the map with some further information using the Mosaic dataset. One of the variables within Mosaic indicates the percentage of people who believe that the ‘London 2012 Olympics will have a positive effect on ordinary people’. Using modelled data, the map shows levels of agreement with the statement, at a Super Output Area level.
In general, most of the torch stops are in the south of the county, which coincides with the areas that people are most likely to believe the Olympics will have a positive effect.

Update: It looks as if the torch might be a making an unscheduled detour to the north of the county after all, to recognise the fact that the torch is being made in Bedworth > http://bit.ly/vqQHxy
