Three Observatory team members nominated for GEM Awards

Last week, three of the Observatory team members received nominations for GEM awards . The GEM awards are a Warwickshire County Council initiative which rewards and encourages individual and team excellence in a number of different categories.

Dave Gardiner and Gareth Wrench were both nominated individually for the ‘Innovation’ award which awards those that have been innovative or creative in developing an improved way of providing their service.

Spencer Payne was nominated for a ‘Special’ award which is awarded to an individual whose contribution to the organisation warrants special recognition.

The awards ceremony was held on Thursday 11th February 2010 at the Leamington Pump Rooms and each of the three nominees attended. Unfortunately they came home empty handed but are insistent they each came ‘2nd’ in their categories after facing some strong competition!

Congratulations to Dave, Gareth and Spencer for their nominations!!
