An exciting new venture between the Observatory and NHS Warwickshire has seen the formation of a new Public Health Intelligence Team.
Public Health Intelligence or epidemiology is the study of factors affecting the health and illness of populations, and serves as the foundation and logic of interventions made in the interest of public health and preventative medicine.
Based within the new Observatory Hub at NHS Warwickshire, Westgate House in Warwick, the role of the Public Health Intelligence Team will be to provide all those working to reduce health inequalities, with advice and support in relation to the provision, analysis, interpretation and use of health related information.
The team will produce a variety of reports and data analyses aimed at supporting evidence-based decision-making within NHS Warwickshire and partner agencies – particularly Warwickshire County Council. The Team will be working in close collaboration with the Observatory on projects such as the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA).
The Public Health Intelligence Team consists of the following staff:
Senior Public Health Intelligence Analyst – Gareth Wrench
Public Health Intelligence Analyst – Paul Kingswell
Public Health Intelligence Analyst (Trainee) – Catherine Rigney
Locum Consultant in Public Health – Rachel Robinson
