Using Customer Insight to Improve the Take-up of Free School Meals

The Warwickshire Observatory has worked with colleagues in the Children, Young People & Families Directorate and the five Borough and District Councils to examine the take-up of Free School Meals (FSM) across the county.  By comparing existing FSM claimants with data on households with children claiming Council Tax or Housing Benefit, we have been able to identify specific communities where the take-up of FSM may be relatively low.

In addition, the Mosaic dataset has been used to learn more about these communities, in particular the communication channels that would be most effective in raising awareness of FSM eligibility.  The attached document presents a two page summary on the study.
