This week, Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) have been advised by the new Government that community safety will continue to be a key priority.
The Government realise that cutting crime and protecting vulnerable people from harm matters to local communities. They recognise that places where crime is tackled effectively are also more likely to have thriving economies, healthier citizens and cohesive communities; and that keeping communities safe is best achieved by local agencies collaborating effectively together.
The Government have said that “effective partnerships play a crucial role in helping to tackle crime and reduce re-offending” and that CSPs will continue to be statutory and be partnerships focused on taking actions and achieving outcomes – cutting crime and reducing harm.
Look out for the new Crime Strategy which is set to be published in the New Year!
