Levels of crime and disorder are consistently found to be the single most important factor influencing the quality of life for Warwickshire residents.
The Quality of Life report 2010 reported that there have been reductions in the number of recorded offences in Warwickshire across most of the four crime categories for the boroughs and districts with the largest reductions seen in violent crime and criminal damage. This aligns with the national trend with findings from the British Crime Survey revealing that crime is decreasing in the United Kingdom and advises that Police recorded crime is down 7% in the year to December 2009 compared with the year ending December 2008.
In Warwickshire, only domestic burglary had seen an increase in the Quality of Life report but this position has improved over the last six months and Warwickshire is now experiencing a reduction in burglary. There are also further reductions reported in the other crime types and the figures show that crime continues to fall in Warwickshire.
