Winners of Young Local Authority of the Year Award! Another success for the Observatory!

Last week, three of the Partnership and Performance Unit (PPU), Emma Curtis, Kirsty Campbell and Kate McGrory (Warwickshire Observatory), along with Ben Cahill from Member Services entered this year’s Young Local Authority of the Year competition. They competed alongside 18 other teams from other Local Authorities.

The initiative is part of the ‘Young UK and Ireland Programme’ which was founded to further the professional development of people in the early stages of their working lives, looking particularly at building confidence by developing communication and public speaking skills.

Congratulations to both Kate (a Research Officer from the Observatory) and Ben (Democratic Services) whose paper on ‘Avoiding the worst doesn’t make you the best’ won them the coveted title of Young Local Authority of the Year! Well done to both of them!!
