The Observatory recently hosted a successful development day on the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA). This was the first time that the strategic leads’ responsible for the JSNA in Warwickshire have been brought together, alongside groups of analysts and commissioners from across the County Council and the Primary Care Trust.
The objective of the day was to provide analysts with a better understanding of how evidence is used in decision making, and what they as a group, are going to need to do to deliver outputs that will really drive commissioning decisions. The session also aimed to demonstrate some of the common limitations and constraints which researchers and analysts regularly face in providing meaningful intelligence. The development day helped to broker relationships between commissioners and analysts and provided some valuable ideas on how to progress Warwickshire’s new JSNA.
A short summary document on feedback received from the day has been compiled and is available to download here. This also contains a series of recommendations and actions which will be taken forward.
