Unemployment continues to rise in Warwickshire, according to February 2012 figures

The Job Seekers’ Allowance (JSA) claimant count in February 2012 was 9,277 in Warwickshire; a rate of 2.7% of the resident working age population. This represents a rise of 223 claimants or 2.5% from the previous month.  Warwickshire’s claimant count continues to rise this month after a significant increase in January, February sees another increase in those claiming Job Seekers’ Allowance. 

The broader ILO definition of unemployment for the UK for the three months to January 2012 was 8.4%. The rate was up 0.1 percentage points on the previous quarter.
