Unemployment in Warwickshire hovers around 8,000

The Job Seekers’ Allowance (JSA) claimant count in July 2012 was 8,052 in Warwickshire; a rate of 2.4% of the resident working age population and 3.0% of the economically active population. This represents a slight increase of 37 claimants or 0.5% from the previous month.

Warwickshire’s claimant count saw a very small increase over the past month, mirroring the trend seen regionally and nationally.

The broader ILO definition of unemployment for the UK for the three months to June 2012 was 8.0%. The rate was down 0.2 percentage points on the previous quarter.
