Unemployment falls across Warwickshire in October

October’s unemployment figures published this week show Warwickshire’s claimant count rate falling by 224 claimants or 2.8% from September 2012 to October 2012.  The Job Seekers’ Allowance (JSA) claimant count in October 2012 was 7,679 in Warwickshire; a rate of 2.3% of the resident working age population and 2.8% of the economically active population.

Unlike previous months, the fall in the County figure over the past month has been reflected across the Districts/Boroughs albeit to varying extents.  North Warwickshire and Stratford-on-Avon saw falls of 5.4% and 5.3% respectively from September to October 2012 compared to Rugby which saw a more modest 0.9% fall.

The number of JSA claimants aged 18-24 and the number of long-term unemployed in the county have both decreased over the last month.
