Unemployment continues to fall into November

unemployment2Claimant count continues to fall into November 2012 in Warwickshire.  The Job Seekers’ Allowance (JSA) claimant count in November 2012 was 7,550 in Warwickshire; a rate of 2.2% of the resident working age population and 2.8% of the economically active population. This represents a fall of 129 claimants or -1.7% from the previous month, a larger percentage fall than seen nationally (-0.8%).

The fall in the County figure over the past month has been reflected across four out of the five Districts/Boroughs albeit to varying extents.  Stratford-on-Avon and Rugby saw falls of 7.3% and 6.4% respectively compared to North Warwickshire which saw a 2.8% increase from October 2012.  Warwickshire has a lower claimant rate than this time last year with more than 700 fewer claimants recorded in November 2012.
