Where are the main areas of population change in Warwickshire?

MSOA-Population-ChangeAs highlighted in previous Blog posts, the population of Warwickshire has increased by 7.8% from the 2001 Census to the 2011 Census. We have reported that this increase has not been evenly distributed across the county. Rugby Borough has witnessed the greatest increase (+14.4%) whilst the population of North Warwickshire Borough has remained relatively static (+0.3%).

The map presented here provides a bit more detail about where these changes have occurred at a Middle Layer Super Output Area (MSOA). MSOAs have been created by the Office for National Statistics by merging Census Output Areas together; there are 66 MSOAs in Warwickshire, each with a population of between 5,000 and 13,000 residents.

Among other things, the map shows that nine of our MSOAs have seen a population increase of 20% or more in the last decade, to find out where they are, click on the map …
